If your hair has knots, the straightener is going to catch and drag instead of glide. 2. Use a heat protectant with a little slip. I like a lightweight shine spray or serum because it helps the straightener move through the hair easier without making it greasy. 3. CLEAN YOUR STRAIGHTENER.
