Replying to @JessInTheFlesh510 i’ve ordered my vanilla beans from the slow food group more times than I can count at this point and I’m always very happy with what I get. Recently I started using vanilla splits instead of whole vanilla beans because they’re cheaper and I don’t notice a difference in my extract so I spend more money if you don’t have to? There’s really nothing wrong with vanilla splits. They’re just not as pretty as Whole vanilla beans because they’ve dried out a bit and split open. But that really just makes the job of extract easier. #VanillaBeans #VanillaExtract #Homemade #SummerVibes

Replying to @phillipvineyard64🇺🇲 rather than trying to get the strongest alcohol you can get your hands on… A better idea is to focus on getting a higher quality spirit to make your extract in. #Va#VanillaExtracta#VanillaBeansu#SummerVibeso#Homemadea#BakingRecipes

One of the most common questions I get about making vanilla extract at home is what type of spirit to use. Really you can use pretty much any spirit that is between 35 and 55% alcohol by volume. I usually stay between 35 and 45%. You just don’t want to have too much alcohol in there because then you won’t extract your vanilla compounds that are water soluble. #SummerVibes #VanillaBeans #Vanilla ##Homemade##VanillaExtract
